Viagra Online for Male Impotence (Erectile Dysfunction)
Brand Name: Viagra®
Why is Viagra prescribed?
Viagra is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. Erectile dysfunction (or male impotence) is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection suitable for sexual pleasure. Men who experience erectile dysfunction should ask their doctor about Viagra. Viagra does not cure erectile dysfunction or increase sexual desire, but it does help sustain an erection when sexually stimulated. Viagra does not prevent against pregnancy or the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.
How does Viagra work?
When the brain is sexually stimulated and arousal occurs, it sends a signal to the penis. Nerve cells in the penis’ corpora cavernosa start producing nitric oxide (NO), which then activates the enzyme guanylate cyclase, which results in increased levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). The cGMP causes the arteries in the corpora cavernosa to dilate, causing excess blood flow into the penis. The extra blood flowing in causes the penis to inflate like a balloon, resulting in an erection.
There can be many reasons why a man suffers from erectile dysfunction. One of the most common reasons, especially in older men, is that their arteries in the penis aren't dilating enough when the brain sends the signal. The man is aroused, and the nerves in the penis are producing NO; but the amount of cGMP produced is not enough to maintain the erection.
Scientists needed to create a drug that increases the blood flow to the penis. They did this with Viagra. Viagra works by eliminating the PDE in the penis so that the cGMP builds up instead of getting decomposed by the PDE, having a larger effect on the artery walls. The greater the amount of cGMP the greater the blood flow, and the greater the blood flow the greater the degree of erection.

Idiosyncrasy of PDE
The reason that Viagra uses this technique is because of an interesting idiosyncrasy of PDE.
It turns out that the human body produces at least 11 different kinds of PDE. Only one of those kinds of PDE – PDE5 – is found primarily in the penis. Once scientists discovered this fact, the creation of Viagra was relatively simple. They needed to find a chemical that would selectively block PDE5 and nothing else. With PDE5 blocked, cGMP could build up in the penis and increase blood flow there without affecting the rest of the body.
Uniqueness of PDE
If there were not the unique type of PDE found in the penis, we would not have Viagra today.
PDE5 is an enzyme (a specially folded protein that can speed up a chemical reaction) that accepts cGMP and breaks it down. Pfizer (the company that created Viagra) needed a chemical that would gum up PDE5 and keep it from doing its job. The chemical that Pfizer discovered is called sildenafil citrate, which fits right into the PDE5 enzyme and disables it.
When a man takes a Viagra pill, which contains sildenafil citrate, the sildenafil citrate flows throughout his body, but only affects the PDE5 enzyme in the penis. The drug stays in the bloodstream for about four hours, and then it is washed out of the body by the liver and kidneys.

Viagra does not:

Can Viagra be taken by women?
Viagra should not be given to children, growing adolescents, or women. The effects of Viagra in women has not yet been tested. Its effects during pregnancy and breastfeeding have not been studied. Breastfeeding mothers should not take Viagra. It is not known whether Viagra passes into breast milk.
Beware of Fake Viagra!
Beware of the internet. There is much competition between sites that sell Viagra and other ED drugs. There are thousands of web sites that will sell you fake Viagra or take you to a site that does. They advertise it as "cheap Viagra" or the "cheapest Viagra." It's easy to create a professional-looking web site. They will say they sell “real Viagra” or “generic Viagra” (there is no such thing), but don’t be fooled.
These sites are selling phony Viagra. It is difficult to determine what exactly you are getting. Many online sites may be ripping you off. For example, you may order Viagra 50 mg, but they sell you 100 mg tablets which are cut in half. You get a baggie full of half-tablets and crumbs. Also, be careful ordering Viagra from countries like Mexico, Thailand, or the Caribbean because they are known to sell fake Viagra.
Viagra is available by prescription only, through online pharmacies. To be safe, purchase Viagra from a certified online pharmacy. This is a convenient and affordable way of buying genuine Viagra.
